Firehouse Subs franchise owners Karen and Gary White were on hand last week to celebrate a donation by the company’s foundation arm to the Kyle Fire Department. Customers at the Kyle store, located on Kyle Parkway, donated change at the register, which went into a grant fund. Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation then distributed a grant for which the department applied, according to Kyle Fire Department Chief Kyle Taylor. The foundation’s money allowed the department to purchase two new infrared cameras, valued at $18,300. Check out next week’s Hays Free Press for a first-hand look at how those cameras can save lives.
