Here’s another Best Bet for those looking for something fun this Saturday night: Buda-based band, Texas Never Whispers, will hold a CD pre-release party this Saturday (Feb. 21) in Buda.
Calling themselves a southern, independent rock band made up of romantics, the group describes the self-titled album as part explosive memoir, part epic soundtrack, this ruminative collection of rockers and ballads. It was recorded at the home of the late Civil War-historian Shelby Foote in Memphis, TN.
It “smolders with road-weary wisdom, as well as hopeless romanticism” claims the desccription on the group’s website.
Founder and principle songwriter is Tim Regan (of indie-rock stalwarts Oh No! Oh My!, Snowglobe, and Antenna Shoes). The band, which takes its name from the early Pavement song of the same name, also features ace backing players Joel Calvin and Greg Barkley from Oh No! Oh My!, Dave Quanbury from Twilight Hotel, and Daniel Wilcox from the Ugly Beats.
Catch them at 8 p.m. Feb. 21 at Tavern on Main in Buda. TO RSVP, visit http://www.texasneverwhispers.com/schedule/.
