Dear Editor:
Why are Buda spokespeople claiming a water emergency when their own data show the projected ‘need’ is for nonexistent residents of proposed future subdivisions? Could it be that Buda politicians, with the exception of the honorable and courageous Angela Kennedy, are more interested in developer sweetheart deals than in Hays County neighbors and current Buda residents?
Buda homeowners – take a look at Woodcreek’s water hookup fees – $125+ a month, each and every month, before even a gallon of water is used and paid for. This is your future if Buda ‘planners’ have their way and your area is saturated with homes past its carrying capacity. Right now, there is plenty of water for existing residents. This is not Buda vs. Wimberley. This is politician/developer profit vs. citizens.
Please join us in demanding a moratorium on further development until we can all figure out what growth this region can bear sustainably and responsibly, with our first priority being the current residents.
