A man who reportedly attempted to kidnap a female in the parking lot of a Dollar General store in Wimberley Wednesday is on the run, according to Hays sheriff’s officials.
An adult female, who was leaving the store at FM 2325 and Carney Lane, told sheriff’s investigators a white male physically attempted to force her into his car as she was walking out of the Dollar General store.
The victim told authorities the attempted kidnapping occurred at about 6:30 p.m., as she was returning to her vehicle.
The suspect’s vehicle is described as a red Ford Ranger pickup truck. A license plate number for the truck has been provided to media at this time.
The female was able to free herself from the suspect and reported the incident to the Hays County Sheriff’s Office once she returned to her Wimberley home.
The suspect is described as a white male, with a height between 5’9” to 6’0”. He is said to have a short “burr” style haircut and sandy blond stubble beard. The suspect was wearing a camouflage shirt/jacket and blue jeans at the time of the attack.
The victim was unable to provide an approximate age of the suspect.
Authorities said Thursday the attempted kidnapping is considered as an isolated occurrence at this times, as no further reports of this nature have been reported in the Wimberley area.
