A total of 13 Hays CISD powerlifters will be on the road to the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi to participate in the Texas High School Women’s Powerlifting Association (THSWPA) 6A state meet. All qualified for state during the THSWPA Region II, Division I meet at Lehman High on Saturday. The Lehman girls powerlifting team highlighted the day by finishing second overall, scoring 23 points in the meet. In total, the Lady Lobos will send ten powerlifters to Corpus Christi. That includes Kali Palomarez, Anamarie Farjardo and Mery Vargas, who all reached state last year. Hays powerlifting qualified three athletes.
