One year after missing state by one stroke, Lehman High sophomore golfer Hillary Hernandez will be making the trek to the UIL 6A state golf tournament.
Hernandez qualified last week by shooting a two-day total of 150 at the 6A Region II Girls Golf Tournament at the Cottonwood Golf Club in Waco. Her performance was good enough to win second place medalist honors at the event.
Hernandez opened tournament play by shooting a 77 on day one. She followed by carding at 73 on the second day, which was good for the fourth best score on the course.
She now advances to the UIL 6A state tournament on April 27-28. On Monday, it was announced the tournament would be moved to the Legacy Hills Golf Club in Georgetown. The tournament had been originally scheduled for the University of Texas Golf Club in Austin.
