William K. ‘Bill, Duck or PawPaw’ Johnson of Buda, Texas, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2015. He was surrounded by family and friends at the time of passing. Bill was born July 20, 1925, in Houston, Texas to Willie Roy Johnson and Jewell May Taylor Johnson. Bill served in the Army from 1945 to 1946 during WWII. Bill was a mail carrier for 32 years in Austin. After retirement he worked various part-time jobs and did a lot of traveling with the Rolling Wheels Travel Club.
Bill is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lucile Anna Skelton Johnson, daughters: Cindy Herzog and ‘favorite’ son-in-law Gary Herzog of Buda, Melinda Grimes and son-in-law Larry Grimes of Manchaca, Kim Tomlin and son-in-law Keith Tomlin of Wimberley, son: Kenneth Johnson, Jr. of Lexington, Texas, 12 grandchildren, 14 greatgrandchildren, brother: Walter ‘Bobby’ Robert Johnson and sister: Alice Jane Johnson Taylor.
He was preceded in death by parents, brother Clyde Johnson and sister-in-law Virginia Hare Johnson, brother-in-law Roger Taylor and sister-in-law Ann ‘Nancy’ Marie Doyle Johnson.
Bill was a member of the Southwest Church of Christ, formerly Ford Village Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the SW School of Bible Studies, 8900 Manchaca Road, Austin, Texas 78748.
Visitation with the family was held Thursday, April 23, 2015. Funeral service was held Friday, April 24, 2015. Interment followed at Cook Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park. Condolences may be made at www.cookwaldenforestoaks.com.
