In their final home game of the season, the Lehman Lobos scored three runs in the sixth inning to claim a 3-2 win over the Austin Maroons on senior night.
Austin High scored first in the top of the second inning and again at the top of the fifth.
Lehman left two runners stranded in the bottom of the fourth, then left three runners abandoned in the fifth inning after striking out at bat.
Austin High led 2-0 before Lehman rallied for a three-run bottom of the sixth inning.
Lehman’s Josh Valdez scored a run on an RBI by Austin Lakey. A pair of additional runs came in on the heels of a triple by Jesse Garcia.
The Lobos held off a surging Austin High attack in the top of the seventh inning and took the win.
Head coach Toby Robinson said that the team played well overall but they had a few missteps that caused the Lobos to miss scoring opportunities and allowed the Maroons to score a couple of runs in the game.
The Lobos conclude the season on the road at Westlake on Friday. First pitch is scheduled for May 1.
