Four area graduates and Eagle Scouts, Stephen Wenzel (Hays), Stephen Sharp (Hays), Michael Wenzel (Hays) Christopher Salas (Lehman), are members of the Corps of Cadets at Texas A&M University. They all serve as a part of A-Battery. A-Battery won the General Moore Award for most outstanding unit in the Corps of Cadets. This is the third time in four years that A-Battery has achieved this honor, and it is a testament to the hard work of the outfit. Each is a proud member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band. Stephen Wenzel served on the leadership team.
As Boy Scouts, each was a part of Order of the Arrow and they served and volunteered at many levels with the Sacred Springs District and the Capitol Area Council. Stephen and Michael were members of Troop 967 and Stephen and Christopher were members of Troop 112.
They will be marching in the Battle of the Flowers Parade in San Antonio, Texas on April 24.
