Willie Belle Brown entered Heaven’s gates on Thursday evening, June 4, 2015, surrounded by family and friends at Legend Oaks in Kyle. She was born September 25, 1923, in Beeville, Texas.
After meeting and marrying the love her life in Corpus Christi, she and Captain “Brownie” Brown eventually settled in Rockport/Fulton where they raised three children: Joe, Debbie and Patricia. Even after the loss of her husband and two of her children, Willie Belle remained a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Rockport. She also enjoyed hosting parties and dinners for friends and family, visiting her grandchildren, and spending time in her garden, a place she loved dearly.
In 2006, she relocated to Central Texas to be closer to family. She was strong, independent and always had a joyful heart. Those near always loved her and her sharp wit.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Porterfield, and husband Brian, daughter-in-law, Donna Brown; and four grandchildren, Andrea, Amber, Jarret and Amanda.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Brownie, daughter Debbie and son Joe.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 12, 11 a.m. at Legend Oaks Healthcare and Rehabilitation Kyle, Texas. Jonathan Leftwich, Pastor of Fellowship Church at Plum Creek, , will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Willie’s Belle name can be made to Fellowship Church at Plum Creek, 160 Grace St. Kyle, Texas 78640.
