It has been said that human nature is so prone to criticize, it seldom takes time to say thanks – there is merit to that. After experiencing 75 summers, including the Vietnam era, take it as gospel. I’ve had more than one occasion to visit doctors and hospitals. Mercy!
Let me digress for a moment and realize there are people out there who believe doctors and hospitals are only in it for the insurance money of the prospective patient. Go to either and experience the madness of all the paperwork you must complete before you can see a doctor…think on that too!
Recently it was necessary for me to receive treatment on my left leg area. My doctor sent me to Hays Surgery Center in Kyle. After filling out a zillion pieces of paperwork, I was taken to the preparation area. I knew going in, that the prep area was a two hour ordeal. But a lady in that area, her name being Beckie, told me to “take off all my clothes” and put on the hospital gowns. Gads, I thought my blood pressure jumped up 10 points! She told me, I’d be in the prep area two or so hours and if there was anything she or her counterparts could do for me I was to just let’em know. Right they were.
Finally it was my turn for treatment, my doctor, Allan Silberbery, assured me “all would go fine.” Right he was. The actual treatment took 15 minutes. Because I was sedated, I only recall being in recovery. Thank God for that.
The point is, if you want to be treated like a human being and not just an insurance number, please see the people at Hays Surgery Center. Ask for Beckie and tell ‘em I sent ya’all.
