Revelers soaked in a variety of experiences during the Fajita Fiesta, which included a sock hop dance and a reenactment of the Battle of Medina, along with the savory smells and tastes of fajitas. Above, an actor fires his weapon toward enemy forces during a historical reenactment of the Aug. 18, 1813 Battle of Medina that was recreated Saturday at Buda City Park in downtown Buda. A handful of actors converged to Buda to reenact the battle, which was fought in el encinal de Medina, which is just outside of San Antonio. The battle pitted republican forces under the Gutierrez-Magee Expedition under General Jose Alvarez de Toledo y Dubois against Spanish troops led by General Joaquin de Arredondo. The battle, won by the Spanish troops, is known as the bloodiest battle ever fought on Texas soil. Click here to view more photos from Fajita Fiesta. (photos by Moses Leos III)
