Elijah Navor Hernandez, known by his smile and that awesome dimple, was called by Jesus to heaven on October 4, 2015. His distraught family takes comfort knowing he is with his beloved grandma Pitty Pat, who left her earthly life in June of this year.
Elijah was born May 13, 1998. In his short time on earth, Elijah touched so many people with his bright smile, clever personality and loving demeanor. He genuinely loved life and saw everyday as a fun, new adventure. His many friends adored him for his quick wit and humor and also his willingness to help with whatever they needed. Elijah found fun and amusement in many activities, including listening to music, hanging out with friends, playing basketball, watching movies, dancing, going to the beach with his friends and mostly making people laugh. Elijah was an engaging person who was loving, curious and kind. He loved all things Central Texas, the festivals, the bats, the rivers, the lakes, the music and the life he lived here with a family that genuinely cherished him.
The center of Elijah’s life was his family, and he was the light of their world. He loved every minute he spent with his dad, whether they were boating at the Canyon Lake, fishing at the coast or relaxing at the beach or at home. A self-proclaimed “Momma’s boy,” he adored his mother and shared her love of laughter and all things fun. Taylor was his sister, but she also was his best friend and mentor.
A senior at Jack C. Hays High School, Elijah was looking forward to graduating in May 2016 and just recently received his cap and gown in anticipation of that big life event. While he wasn’t totally sure of his career path, he aspired to study radiology.
No words can describe the depth of the loss that Elijah’s family feels at this time. They all covet your thoughts, prayers and love.
Elijah is survived by his mother Kamecca Sha’ Bolton of Lockhart, Texas; father, Navor Hernandez, Jr. of Kyle, Texas; sister Taylor Balbas-Beach and her husband Jerald Beach and their son Maddox Beach of Luling, Texas; grandmother, Billy Joyce Hernandez of Angleton, TX; grandfather Milo Bolton of Whitehouse, Texas; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be at Harrell Funeral Home on Thursday, October 8, 2015 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Funeral service will be on Friday, October 9, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Harrell Funeral Home.
John 14:1-4 “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going.”
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
