Staff Report
Hays CISD is investigating a reported concern of unprofessional conduct of a non-sexual nature toward one or more students by a teacher’s aide at Ralph Pfluger Elementary School.
According to a statement, Hays CISD on Thursday placed the teacher’s aide on a precautionary, paid leave of absence.
Hays CISD has informed the Hays County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) and Child Protective Services (CPS), as is required in such matters, according to the statement.
Due to the ongoing investigation, the district is unable to elaborate on any details. The district has spoken with the parents of students who may have been affected by the allegation and “is confident” no other students at the school have been exposed to the incident or the aide’s alleged actions.
“Hays CISD takes very seriously all allegations of potential inappropriate behavior because a safe learning environment is paramount,” the district’s statement said.
The employee will remain on paid administrative leave until the formal conclusion of the law enforcement and CPS investigations. She has worked for the district for more than 10 years and has had no prior allegations.
