Lake Travis didn’t take long to establish its dominance over Lehman Friday.
Abe Willows capped off a five play drive with an 8-yard touchdown run in less than 90 seconds into the Cavaliers (5-0, 3-0 District 14-6A) 56-0 win over the Lehman Lobos at Cavalier Stadium.
The Lobos (0-6, 0-4) drove into Lake Travis territory on its first possession, but the drive was halted with Austin Hiller’s 59-yard pick-six to put the Cavaliers up 14-0.
Lehman didn’t see Lake Travis’ side of the field for the remainder of the first quarter.
The Cavaliers, however, found the endzone two more times. Joey Ceshker had a 10-yard touchdown run after a four-play drive. Maleek Barkley scored on a 37-yard run after a 1-yard punt by Lehman gave Lake Travis good field position.
Charlie Brewer got his first of two touchdown passes two minutes into the second quarter, finding Cade Green from 8-yards out. Brewer and Green hooked up again in the third quarter, from nine yards.
The first of Santiago Villegas’ touchdown runs sent Lake Travis into halftime with a 42-0 lead.
Penalties were a problem for the Cavaliers, who had 9 penalties for 100 yards. Lake Travis had four fewer penalty yards (75) than Lehman had in total offense (79) in the first half.
Villegas rounded out the scoring with a 1-yard run in the final minute of the third quarter.
Brewer had a perfect night, completing all 10 pass attempts without an interception for 108 yards and two touchdowns.
Lehman, which had 114 total yards, had one opportunity to put points on the scoreboard in the second quarter.
Behind the legs of Bryan Mendoza (21 carries, 57 yards), the Lobos got the ball to the Lake Travis 26-yard line. Lehman missed a 43-yard field goal attempt.
Lake Travis will play Anderson next week at House Park. Lehman will host Del Valle.
