Isidro D. Contreras, 75 of Uvalde, TX died peacefully at his home in Kyle, TX. He was born on May 15, 1940 in Blewitt, TX to Josefa and Julian Contreras. He married Maria Ester Holguin on November 25, 1962.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Eduardo Contreras and Julian Contreras. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, his three children Elisena Diaz and husband Ruben Diaz, son Raymond Contreras, and Eledina Pedroza and husband Chris Pedroza. His five grandchildren Veronica Marie Natividad and husband Jonar Natividad, Valerie Christine Diaz, Michael Dean Contreras, Marissa Lisette Pedroza and Christopher Jacob Pedroza.
Isidro is from a family of 10 children and is survived by his brothers and sisters Leonor Guzman, Aurora Muniz, Elida Uriegas, Joe Contreras, Esther Rodriguez, and Richard Contreras all of Uvalde, TX and Maria Roman of Odessa, TX.
Isidro enjoyed being with his family. He was a hard worker, working two to three jobs at a time, in order to provide for his family. He was a very proud man and was the true definition of a family man. His hobbies included helping at Santa Cruz Catholic Church until his health declined, working in his yard, listening to Tejano music, dancing and being with people. He was very outgoing and was a fan and follower of the Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Astros. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to make people laugh, even until his last days. His family will miss him dearly.
A rosary will be held at Harrell Funeral Home on Friday, October 9, 2015 and funeral services will be on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Santa Cruz Catholic Church at 10:00 am.
