The mayors of Buda and Kyle Saturday each signed disaster declarations following the widespread flooding that took place during Friday’s flood event that led to property and infrastructure damage in each city.
Buda Mayor Todd Ruge and Kyle Mayor Todd Webster signed declarations that will continue for a period of no more than seven days unless continued or renewed by the City Council.
The declarations were a result of the flooding that inundated many Kyle and Buda area neighborhoods Friday. According to a report from KVUE in Austin, the Buda area received 18 inches of rain, while the Kyle area received 16 inches of rain during the storm event.
