Two teenagers and a juvenile were arrested early Wednesday morning after they led law enforcement on a vehicle and foot chase following a Buda Police Department traffic stop for a vehicle reported stolen.
The incident happened at around 3:11 a.m. Wednesday. Authorities arrested Jose Delamora, 17, of Austin and Kenneth Lee Jr., 17, also of Austin. One juvenile was also arrested. Each offender is facing multiple charges, some of which include Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Burglary of a Vehicle, and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity.
The adults have been booked into the Hays County Jail and the juvenile was transported to Hays County Juvenile Detention Center.
According to a Buda Police press release, while patrolling the Ashford Park neighborhood, a Buda Police officer spotted a vehicle reported stolen in the area of Faircrest Drive.
While attempting to turn around to initiate a traffic stop, the suspects fled and ultimately came to a stop at Ashford Park Blvd. and Winborne Way. At that location three male suspects bailed out of the car and fled on foot.
Due to the combined efforts of local law enforcement, all three individuals were located and detained.
Buda Police report that they believe the individuals may also be responsible for the multiple vehicle burglaries and thefts in Buda over the past few weeks.
According to the release, further investigation may result in additional charges.
At this time, police have not linked the three suspects to a police impersonator incident that occurred on Nov. 17. Buda Police detectives continue to investigate that incident.
