One man was killed in a single vehicle rollover accident Friday after he lost control of his vehicle along Main Street in Buda.
The accident occurred on Main Street between Sequoyah and Bradfield Drive at approximately 6:30 p.m. Friday. Authorities on Monday identified the victim as Alfredo Rodriguez, 44, of Austin.
According to Buda Police Chief Bo Kidd, a 1994 Lexus passenger car, driven by Rodriguez, was traveling north on Main Street when “for unknown reasons,” the driver lost control the vehicle.
Kidd said the vehicle crossed the lanes of traffic before leaving the road. The vehicle came to rest on the passenger side after sideswiping a tree. It is unknown at this time how fast the vehicle was going.
Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing his seat belt.
According to Kidd, Buda Police believes the driver may have had a medical issue that caused the accident, but they are awaiting final autopsy results.
Buda Police continues to investigate the accident.
