The Hays CISD Education Foundation’s “Connecting Kids to Learning” campaign has officially delivered on its promise, as each of the district’s eighteen K-8 campuses will soon be receiving nine (9) Chromebooks. That’s 162 of the devices headed for HCISD campuses as a result of last fall’s foundation campaign.
Chromebooks were selected because they are versatile laptops that leverage Hays CISD’s Google Apps for Education (GAFE) suite of tools. GAFE tools allow the Chromebooks to be incredibly efficient and reliable, utilizing the secure GAFE cloud instead of a hard drive. Chromeboooks are also cost-effective devices used in districts throughout Texas, including the Hays CISD. The Chromebooks will be accessible through campus libraries very soon.
Foundation President Rob Dahse, Executive Director Angie Mendez, and the Foundation’s Board of Directors expressed thanks for the encouraging support of the campaign and look forward to seeing how this technology affects campuses.
