A Kyle man who authorities believe is a suspected drug dealer was arrested Monday after he allegedly was caught with illicit drugs inside of a vehicle he was driving.
Authorities arrested Dorian Anthony Abeita, 25, of Kyle, on two counts of Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a first degree felony, Possession of Marijuana greater than four ounces and Money Laundering, which are both state jail felonies.
Abeita is currently being held in the Hays County Jail on $46,000 bond.
According to a Hays County arrest affidavit, a Hays County Narcotics Task Force Officer was conducting surveillance on Abeita, who, according to the report, was a suspected drug dealer. The officer was conducting surveillance at the Autumn Chase Apartments in San Marcos, where Abeita was residing.
At approximately 7:45 p.m., the officer saw Abeita walk out of his residence and get into a black Kia.
Abeita drove from the complex and the officer stopped him as he drove on northbound IH-35.
The detective was aware Abeita was driving with a suspended license.
Per the affidavit, multiple baggies of marijuana were located in the vehicle along with baggies of tetrahydracannabinol (THC), or hash oil, that allegedly were packaged for sale. Cocaine was also found in the vehicle.
The HCNTF detective then went to Abeita’s apartment and talked with his girlfiend, who cooperated and turned over the remainder of the narcotics.
More than one pound of marijuana was seized, along with approximately one ounce of THC and a quarter ounce of cocaine from the bedroom closet of the apartment.
The detective also found empty baggies for packaging and a digital scale.
In addition, the officer seized approximately $3,000 from the bedroom closet.
