The Hays County Sheriff’s Office released photos and a description of the vehicle driven by a suspect who fled on foot after a deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop.
The suspect was last seen driving a 2009 gray Honda Accord. Hays County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Jeri Skrocki said the suspect fled from authorities after a HCSO deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop for speeding.
Officers are following leads on the event in an effort to identify the suspect and determine the “reason for his actions,” according to a HCSO press release.
The driver is described as a Hispanic male who is 5’8″ tall, has short black hair and was wearing a turquoise shirt and blue jeans. The man was carrying a red H-E-B bag.
According to the release, units discontinued the search for the suspect at 4 p.m.

UPDATE – 4:33 p.m.
According to the city of Kyle’s Facebook page, Kyle Police has received word that the search for the man has been called off.
There is no additional information at the moment, according to the city.

The Hays County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man who evaded authorities after a traffic stop in Kyle.
According to a Hays County press release, the incident occurred at approximately 1:00 p.m. Thursday when a Hays County Sheriff’s Office deputy attempted to make a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Burleson Street in Kyle.
The driver of the vehicle pulled over and then fled the scene on foot.
The driver is described as a Hispanic male who is 5’8″ tall, has short black hair and was wearing a turquoise shrt and blue jeans. The man was carrying a red H-E-B bag.
Police are in the area searching for the suspect. Officers from the HCSO, along with the San Marcos, Kyle and Buda Police Departments and K-9 units are conducting the search.
The city of Kyle is asking commuters to avoid the Burleson Street and Marketplace area for the time being.
In an email to Kyle Elementary parents, Hays CISD Public Information Officer Tim Savoy said the campus is not on lockdown or lock out at this time and that dismissal will occur at regular schedule.
Savoy said in the email Kyle Police have given the campus the okay to release students on schedule.
Any one who sees the suspect or has information regarding the incident should call 911 immediately.
