The Hays County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a suspect who kicked in the door of a residence in the Oak Forest subdivision May 28 and robbed a homeowner at gunpoint.
According to a Hays County press release, deputies were dispatched to an address in the 200 block of Oak Forest Drive in Buda for a “Burglary in Progress Call” at 10:15 a.m.
When deputies arrived, a homeowner told authorities his front door had been kicked in by an unknown man with a handgun. The suspect confronted the homeowner and demanded money from him while holding a pistol to his head. The suspect stole property, including cash and a wallet, along with the victim’s cell phone. The suspect fled in an unknown direction from the residence and no vehicle description was readily available.
The victim notified a neighbor of the incident, who called 911 to report the crime. The victim’s alarm company also notified authoriites of the break-in.
The suspect is described as a black male, approximately six feet tall with a medium build and short hair. He was waering a red and black jacket, dark, possibly black, pants and dark colored shoes. The suspect was also armed with a semi-automatic handgun.
