A Dripping Springs teen who is suspected of assaulting his mother and fleeing the scene with her vehicle earlier this week was taken into custody by U.S. Marshalls Friday after a short vehicle pursuit in Illinois, according to a Hays County Sheriff’s Office press release.

William Michael Bryars, 17, of Dripping Springs, was captured after he attempted to evade officers in Alton, Ill. and subsequently wrecked the vehicle he was driving.
