A Hays High senior was arrested on campus Friday after he was suspected of breaking into a vehicle in the Live Oak Academy parking lot, according to a letter from principal David Pierce to parents.
The student, identified as a 17-year-old male senior, was arrested by Hays County Sheriff’s Office school resource officers (SRO’s), who were forced to call for backup after the student resisted arrest.
Pierce said the campus was safe and the issue was quickly resolved.
“As always, we are grateful to the officers from the Hays County Sheriff’s Office who serve at our school and in our community,” Pierce said in the letter. “They work tirelessly to keep us safe and protected from danger. They deserve our added appreciation for their efforts today.”
