On Sunday, April 22th, 2018, at the young age of 20, Joe Rene Perez Jr’s life was tragically cut short. He passed away and entered the presence of God, in Antioch, Tennessee, the victim of senseless violence.
Always happy and able to bring a smile to anybody, Joe was born to Joe Rene and Patricia Ann (Saucada) Perez Sr. in Austin Texas, on September 22, 1997. Joe, a loving young man, had lots of friends. He attended Lehman high school and later Hays high school both in Kyle Texas. He was visiting his brother and working with him in Nashville, TN doing appliance installation when tragedy struck.
As a child, Joe played football with the Lehman Lobos until he was in sixth grade. He loved rap music and was a fan of taking selfies. Joe wouldn’t consider himself vain; but he had the look, was very photogenic, and worked hard to maintain it. If his hair was out of place or in need of a haircut, on went a cap. Joe was selfless, always concerned about the wellbeing of others. His joyful demeaner could change anybody’s day around. He loved going out with friends of all ages for movies and shopping. He was always on the go, full of youthful energy and ambition. He was his mom’s baby and let everybody know. While in Nashville, he often lamented about his desire to be with his parents and have a Whataburger. Joe will always be remembered for his smile, jokes and the joy he shared with others.
Joe’s life was richly blessed by those who loved him, including his parents Joe Rene and Patricia Ann Perez Sr., his brothers Cruz and Christian Perez, his grandmothers: Adele Cardenas and Mary Rodriguez, his Niece Lilliana Perez, his best friend Martin Galicia as well as numerous Aunts, Uncles and cousins.
