A Dripping Springs-area veteran claimed a landslide victory in the runoff for the Pct. 4 Justice of the Peace Republican primary Tuesday.

John Burns defeated Robert Avera by capturing 66 percent of the 1,672 total votes cast, according to unofficial, final results. Results from Tuesday’s election will be canvassed at a later date by the Hays County Commissioners Court.
