Deacon Daniel D. Guerra, age 59, passed away of Cancer on August 15th, 2018 while being cared for at home by his beloved family and church community.
Deacon Guerra was born in Austin, Texas on February 14th, 1959 and resided there most of his life. He graduated from McCallum High school and spent most of his years working at their family owned business, El Azteca restaurant. After the family business came to an end he proudly worked as Facility Supervisor at the Central Texas Foodbank, where he was able to serve the community among coworkers that he loved. He spent the majority of his later years serving Christ at St. Anthony Marie de Claret Catholic Church in Kyle, Tx where he settled and raised his family. He proudly served with The Knights of Columbus, Charismatic group Caminando con Jesus y Maria, formed a men’s bible study in Spanish, and focused his time evangelizing his testimony to bring people to Christ.
Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Flora Guerra, his children Cynthia, Juan, Valerie, and Natalie, 6 grandchildren, and 3 siblings.
Services will be held on Friday, August the 17th with visitation from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm followed by a rosary from 7:00 pm- 9:00 pm at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church (801 Burleson St. Kyle Tx. 78640). The funeral mass will be held on Saturday, August the 18th at 3:30 pm at St. Anthony Catholic Church followed by the entombment service at Assumption Cemetery.
