Michael (Mike) Lossau, 59, passed away surrounded by family at home on December 6, 2018 after a short battle with cancer. He was born on November 10, 1959 near Chicago, Illinois to Harold and Bettie Lossau. He was married to Kathleen O’Neil Lossau for 32 years and they raised two children in Austin, Texas. He graduated from Texas State University with a degree in geography and worked in Austin as a real-estate appraiser before retiring a few years ago.
Mike was very active in his church (Santa Cruz) volunteering with St. Vincent de Paul and singing in the choir. He was also active in the community volunteering with the Boy Scouts and reading at the local elementary school. He enjoyed his Westgate Lanes bowling league. In his retirement, he loved to travel overseas and to national parks with family and friends.
Mike was preceded in death by his brother Matthew, father Harold, and mother Bettie. He is survived by his wife Kathleen, two children Michelle and Luke, daughter-in-law Anna, brother Paul (and wife Victoire), and many Brother/Sister-In-Laws, nieces, and nephews.
Please join us in celebrating Michael’s exceptional life during his visitation on Sunday, December 16, 2018 from 5 to 7 pm followed by a rosary service at 7pm at Harrell Funeral Home, 1715 Kirby, Kyle, Texas. Michael’s funeral mass will follow at 10:00 am, Monday, December 17, 2018 at Santa Cruz Catholic Church, 1100 Main Street, Buda, Texas, with interment following at Assumption Cemetery, Austin, Texas.
