High water closes numerous Hays County roads

Several Wimberley and Dripping Springs area roads are still closed following last week’s major rain event that passed through much of Central Texas.

According to LCRA Hydromet data, some areas of Dripping Springs received upwards of 3.5 inches of rain in the past week, while areas of Driftwood received more than three inches. Areas around Ruby Ranch near Buda received close to 2.5 inches of rain Dec. 27.

Officials urge motorists to avoid traveling over flooded roadways. Turn around, don’t drown.
