Linda Marie McDaniel, 71, of Buda, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2019, following a long illness.
Linda was born Dec. 24, 1947, in Austin, Texas to the late Robert Dudley, Sr., and Ivy (Miller) Henson. She attended Travis High School and subsequently worked as a beautician. On May 28, 1966, she was united in marriage to Weldon McDaniel in Austin, Texas.
Linda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, Bunco nights with the ladies and posting daily on Facebook. Family was always first with Linda, and she never missed a family function or any event involving her children. As a friend, Linda was one of the best. She was always willing to extend a helping hand with no hesitation or expectation of anything in return.
Linda will most be remembered as a loyal, loving and caring woman. Friends and family know that Linda unselfishly moved her mother and special needs sister into her house and cared for them both for decades. She was absolutely devoted to her husband of 45 years, Weldon. She was the consummate caregiver to him; especially the last few years of his life.
Linda is preceded in death by her husband Weldon. She is survived by her oldest son, Jason McDaniel and his partner John Vela of Austin; youngest son Ryan McDaniel of Austin; daughter Allison McDaniel and her husband Ken Marciano of Windermere, FL; and two grandchildren, Rocco and Bronx Marciano; one sister, Sandra Henson of Austin; two brothers, Junior and his wife, Linda Henson, and Wayne and his wife Audrey Henson. She is further survived by uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Graveside services for Linda McDaniel will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at Cooke-Walden/Forest Oaks Cemetery, 6300 W. William Cannon Drive. David Sweet, Pastor at Hays Hills Baptist Church, will officiate.
