Nelson Louis Schiller, 79, returned to his heavenly home on the day of Easter Resurrection, April 21, 2019 after a valiant battle with a long illness.
Schiller was born to the late Dr. Nelson Lorenz Schiller and Elenora Emilie Louise Fuchs Schiller, in Brenham on Feb. 27, 1940. His love of music and his strong Christian faith led him to serve as a member of the Bell Choir at St. Paul Lutheran Church and was a member of the Austin Symphonic Band. He was an avid outdoorsman and hunter and devoted San Antonio Spurs fan who could always be found in his beloved Spurs cap and Texas Longhorn gear. He graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelor Degree in Microbiology and a Masters in Science/Pharmacy and served as a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant. He participated in extensive published Cancer Research during his time at the University. He spent his career as a Real Estate Broker and held Offices as the President of the Williamson County Board of Realtors and President of St. Martin’s Lutheran Church Austin Congregation.
Schiller was blessed with a loving and devoted family. He married his best friend and love of his life Hazel Mae Clark, on Oct. 19, 2002 in Bulverde. Schiller was a loving father to two children and three grandchildren. His son Steve Bell and daughter Cindy Gonzalez, and grandchildren Jennifer Siller, Chris Gonzalez and Rebekah Gonzalez, as well as four great grandchildren Christian Siller, Sophia Siller, Sebastian Siller and Cayleana Siller.
Schiller is survived by his wife, Hazel Schiller; his son Steve; his daughter Cindy; his grandchildren Rebekah, Chris and Jennifer; his sister Joyce Elaine Kudick; his nephew Troy Miller; his niece Elaine Ball, and many other loving family members. Schiller was preceded in death by his loving parents and identical twin brother Nathan Wayne Schiller.
Viewing for family and friends will be held at Harrell Funeral Home in Kyle on Sunday, April 28, from 1-4 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at Harrell Funeral Home on Monday, April 29 at 2:30 p.m. officiated by his lifelong friend and Pastor Bobby Leggett.
Pallbearers will be Steve Bell, Troy Miller, Demetrius Davis, Garland Shelton, John Simms, Ray Mack and Peter Yong.
