Charlotte Moreno, 86, of Kyle, Texas, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Friday, July 5, 2019. She was born in San Antonio, Texas to the late Domingo Garza and Mary Battaglia on June 9, 1933.
Charlotte grew up in San Antonio, married and raised her family there. She moved to Dallas when she was 60 to be closer to her grandchildren and then to Kyle, Texas when she retired from retail life. Charlotte never met a stranger and she impacted everyone she did meet with her zest for life and sense of humor. She loved fashion, shopping, gardening, taught arts and crafts when she was a young mother, enjoyed dancing, and music was always playing in the background throughout her life. She worked hard to provide a beautiful home for her family who were her everything. She loved being surrounded by her children and their families and friends who affectionately called her Mimi.
Charlotte is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Moreno, her sister Margaret Castanares and granddaughter, Katie Bruntz.
She is survived by her children Rosie Moreno (Craig Bruntz), Becky TenDoeschate (Paul), Richard Moreno II (Kaye Woolery), Laura Raven (Mark) and Mark Moreno, nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Charlotte loved reunions and parties, but not funerals. Her family will honor their mother instead with a Celebration of Life gathering for family and friends, to be held over the Labor Day weekend. Details pending.
