Clifford Dale Strayer, 86, died peacefully on Saturday, October 12, 2019. His last days were shared with family and friends.
Clifford was born on November 26, 1932, in Hart, Michigan, to Claude and Sadie Strayer. He was a brick layer and stone mason. Clifford worked in residential and commercial construction most notably on the LBJ Library in Austin. He married Laura Lee Eli Stober on December 25, 1969. He was the father of six children.
Clifford was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for hunting and fishing. He was known for his gregarious personality and love of music and singing. The world is a little more quiet without him.
Clifford was proceeded in death by his parents, Claude and Sadie Strayer, sister, Bonnie Strudwick-Reed, and brother, Marshall Strayer. He is survived by his wife, Laura, sisters Vivian Raitz Carlson, Phyllis Gaspar, Loretta DeWitt, and Sherrie Fontenot, and his children, Donna Million, Debra Rogas, Tony Strayer, Donna Flores, Denise Wilburn, Dan Stober, his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Public Visitation will be Wednesday, October 16, 2019 5:00-7:00 p.m., Funeral Service Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Live Oak Cemetery, Manchaca, Texas.
