Hays County Caucus endorses local candidates

The Hays County Women’s Political Caucus has endorsed two local candidates running for offices in Buda and Woodcreek.

Winning the support of the HCWPC are Terry Cummings for Buda City Council District C and Chrys Grummert for Woodcreek City Council.

Candidates are asked to submit responses to questionnaires seeking their views on a variety of issues and local concerns. The HCWPC’s Political Action Committee reviews the responses and invites those who qualify to speak and answer questions from members.

The 2019 elections will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 5, with early voting from Oct. 21-Nov. 1 at countywide polling places.

Founded in 1973, the Hays County Women’s Political Caucus is a local branch of the National Women’s Political Caucus. The organizations are multi-partisan and focus on increasing women’s political power base. The Hays County Caucus is the largest chapter in Texas.

The organization strives to increase women’s participation in the political process and to identify, recruit, train and support progressive feminist candidates for election and appointment to public office.

The HCWPC supports equality for all women; equal rights for all individuals regardless of race, age, gender, religion, ethnic origin, ability, sexual orientation or immigration status; reproductive freedom and health care services; quality dependent care; and the eradication of violence, poverty and discrimination on any basis.
