History was made once again by the Dripping Springs Tiger volleyball team Friday after the program secured a school-record eighth straight district title by virtue of a 25-18, 25-18, 25-15 win over McCallum.
The victory improved Dripping Springs’ district record to 107-2 during that eight-year span including its current run of 86 consecutive district victories that dates back to 2013.
So far this season, Dripping Springs has yet to drop a set against district opponents. The Tigers have won 39 straight sets during district play heading into their regular season finale against Austin Northeast.
Tiger senior Mackenzie Murray led the way Friday with 15 kills with sophomore Madi Lund scoring seven kills. Tiger senior Kylar Raymond had seven aces and senior setter Sarah Nading had 21 assists.
On the defensive side, Dripping Springs finished with eight total blocks with Lund, sophomore Annabelle Crowder and junior Lauren Pyka each scoring two blocks.
Dripping Springs will now prepare for the postseason which begins Nov. 5.
