Vivian Marie Corder, 83, of Buda, Texas passed away on April 19, 2020.
Vivian was born in Aleman, Texas to Samuel and Maybell Bunnell on December 12, 1936. Vivian grew up on the family farm and later attended Evant High School, home of the fighting Elks, and graduated with the class of 1955. In high school she played basketball as well as the snare drum and was crowned Homecoming queen. She met Thurman Franklin Corder in Austin, Texas while attending the Nixon-Clay Business College. They married in 1957. Thurman was a member of the US Air Force together they spent time stationed in Spokane, Washington and later lived in Ohio, Indiana, Georgia, and finally landing in Texas and calling it home. Vivian was a devoted wife and homemaker and mother. She became a mother to Greg Corder on October 28, 1957 and again to Phyllis Siebert on August 15, 1968. Later she worked for clothing manufacturer, Jack Winter. She also worked as office manager for Vada builders in Georgia. In Midland she worked at the county courthouse and had many friends there. In Austin she worked as office manager for both Scharfee Homebuilders and Stevens Homes. She became a Mamaw in 1993 to her first of three grandchildren. In 2016 she became a great grandma to the first of her two great grandchildren. She was a faithful member at the Southwest Church of Christ in Austin, TX for over 40 years where she taught bible class for much of her time there. Vivian was a talented seamstress. She ran the double top stitch machine for clothing label “Jack Winter”. She attended monthly craft nights with her friends at church. She enjoyed quilting and hand embroidering, adding a special personality to her creations. She was a lover of sweets and treated the family to her homemade cheesecake during holiday gatherings. She was known to get lost in the fabric store and started every day with a bible reading a cup of black coffee. She was known to end her day with a cup of black coffee as well.
Vivian is survived by her son Greg and wife Sheryl Corder, her daughter Phyllis Siebert and husband Keith. Her three grandchildren Kara Siebert, Carson Siebert, and Katelyn Pesina and husband Josh as well as two great grandchildren, Kyrie and Will Pesina. All are residents of Buda, Tx. She is preceded in death by her husband Thurman Corder, parents Samuel and Maybell Bunnell, and brothers Glen Bunnell, Sam (SW) Bunnell, and Eldon Bunnell.
Funeral Services will be held at Harrell Funeral Home, 1715 Kirby, in Kyle, TX, on June 1, 2020, at 2 PM. Interment to follow at Live Oak Cemetery in Manchaca, TX.
