Robert Monreal 73 of Austin, Texas peacefully passed away surrounded by his daughters on July 3, 2020 in San Marcos, Texas.
Robert attended Texas School for the Blind from 1953 to 1964 where he excelled on the wrestling team and as a multi-talented musician. Robert was a dedicated employee for the Austin Independent School District as a Custodian for 24 years. He loved working around children so much that after retirement he went on to work as a school crossing guard for several years. Robert was devoted to his entire family, always had a goofy joke to tell and loved life.
Robert was a member of The Church of God of the First Born where he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized.
Robert is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ermelinda Reyes Monreal of Austin, Texas. Daughters: Irene M. Cardenas (Benjamin) of Austin, Texas, Angela Rodriguez (Andy) of Austin, Texas, Lisa M. Bender (Sean) of Kyle, Texas, Sarah L. Monreal of Austin, Texas, one son Robert Paul Monreal of Austin, Texas, sister Tila Albarado (Guadalupe) of Bastrop, Texas, and Mom, Simona T. Monreal of Bastrop, Texas. Robert is also survived by his nine grandchildren and four great-grand children which he adored with all his heart.
Robert is preceded in death by his Dad, Pablo Monreal and granddaughter Ermelinda Irene Cardenas.
Visitation and Memorial/Church Service will be held Monday July 13, 2020 at Harrell Funeral Home, 1715 Kirby, Kyle, Texas 78640. Visitation 9:30-11:00. Memorial/Church Service 11:00-12:00PM with Pastor Benjamin Cardenas of the Church of God of the First Born officiating. Burial will follow at 1:30PM at Assumption Cemetery 3650 South IH35 Frontage Road, Austin Texas 78704.
