Firms can apply Aug. 10 for county small business assistance.

Hays County businesses with 10 or fewer employee may apply beginning Aug. 10 for Emergency Cash Assistant Program (ECAP) grants. 

The program will be administered by People Fund and grants of $10,000 for up to 10 eligible employees will be issued by an awards committee.

To allow businesses more time in applying, a pdf version of an application is available now at People Fund said they will provide assistance in gathering required documentation and help in learning any other hurdles small businesses encounter.

“Mom and pop” operations literally run by two family member may be eligible for slightly more money.

The program has $600,000 to allocate. Hays County put in $500,000 and the city of Kyle added $100,000. Other municipalities like Buda already have initiated their own programs to offer stimulus cash to businesses affected by COVID-19.
