Economic development doesn’t happen in a vacuum — especially during a pandemic. Instead, the job-creation announcements have continued, even during these times of unprecedented challenges to businesses, big and small.
If you want to meet the people largely responsible, the Greater San Marcos Partnership (GSMP) has an invitation for you in part to mark the organization’s 10-year anniversary.
On Wednesday, Dec. 2, the GSMP will host a one-hour virtual event to introduce team members to the public and share insights on its operation and successes.
In Kyle, that has included Amazon and more.
The event will take place via Zoom from 11 a.m. until noon and the public is encouraged to participate. RSVP at https://https.
“Although GSMP has been helping to grow the region’s economy for 10 Topics to be covered, the event will include how GSMP is funded, recruits businesses to the region, helps existing companies expand, markets the Texas Innovation Corridor, and collaborates with stakeholders in the public and private sectors. Attendees will also be invited to participate in a Q&A session.”
Since 2010, GSMP has helped secure the expansion or relocation of 44 companies to the region, resulting in more than 5,500 direct new jobs and $600 million in capital investment. The annual economic output of GSMP’s associated projects generates $2.8 billion in the Greater San Marcos region.
