On Friday, November 27, 2020, Mark Howard Peabody a.k.a. “Honey,” beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, grandfather and dear friend to many, died from complications of ALS.
Mark is survived by his wife, Shelley Peabody; his daughter Cally Conklin, her husband Jay Conklin and grandchildren Cate, Maggie and Reid Conklin; his daughter Amy Peabody, her husband Michael Lloyd and grandchildren Taylor Robichaux, Ruston Moore, Tyler Lloyd and Chance Underwood; his son Cole Peabody and grandchild Baxter Peabody; his father Howard Peabody and his siblings Terese Peabody Cozart, Cathleen Sweeney-Daniel, Julianne Martin, Betsy Barrasso, Brian Peabody and Scott Peabody; and countless nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
Mark was born on December 27, 1952 in Tucson, AZ to Howard Peabody and Joan Lyon. On May 11, 1974 he married the love of his life, Shelley, and they recently celebrated 46 years of marriage. Theirs was a union revered and admired by all who knew them. At the age of 25 Mark started his own company in Buffalo, WY, Mark’s Masonry, capitalizing on the stone and brickwork talent he developed as a teenager. In 1982 Mark, Shelley and their three children settled in Dripping Springs and for nearly 37 years Mark and Shelley ran Peabody General Contractors, Inc. PGC did a lot of work for The City of Austin, The University of Texas and jobs all over Texas. Mark lived for his time with family most of all. He loved music, fishing, Words with Friends and chores of any kind, but especially those related to trash removal. He was fiercely loved by all and will be deeply missed.
No services are planned at this time. The family is planning a celebration of life when it is safe to do so.
