HAYS COUNTY — Driving through cities, gazing upon the wonder of Christmas lights is a tradition for many families. Pulling out all the stops for decorating their home for the holidays is a tradition for others.
Hays County residents have until Friday, Dec. 11 at 11:45 p.m. to enter the Home Holiday Lights Contest, hosted by the Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC), for a chance to win up to $500 and their house as best decorated on the block.
With eight district office locations, PEC employees will vote on their favorite light display submission from their district. After a second round of voting, the grand prize winner will be selected to receive a $500 PEC bill credit and yard sign. Then the winner from each district will receive a $250 credit and sign of their own.
Winners will be announced and prizes will be distributed on Monday, Dec. 21.
