Linda Diane Steinbrueck, “Diane” age 63, of Driftwood, Texas and formerly of Troy, Missouri passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, October 20, 2021. She was a 1976 graduate of Buchanan High School in Troy and received her BS in Landscape Architecture from Kansas State University in 1981. Following graduation, Diane moved to Austin, Texas where she started her landscaping firm Winterowd & Associates. She was an award-winning member of the American Society of Landscape Architects and was appointed to the Texas Board of Architectural Examiners. She developed landscape design features that are prominent in and around Austin.
Diane’s love of art and nature was evident in every part of her world. She loved all animals. Most of all she was a loving mother to her daughter Mackenzie. Diane was a kind, gentle soul with a hearty laugh who will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mackenzie and Raymond Anderson of Austin, Texas; her brother Larry (Denise) Steinbrueck, sisters Debra (Tony) Taguba and Beverly (Jesse) Stewart. Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Herb and Mary Steinbrueck of Troy, Missouri.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm, on November 8, 2021, at Harrell Funeral Home in Austin, Texas. Memorials may be made to Austin Pets Alive or the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center.
