AMVETS of Kyle holds flag ceremony

By Megan Wehring

BUDA – Buda Oaks, a senior living community, had an unforgettable Memorial Day this year.

AMVETS of Kyle came out to assist the community’s veterans with a Changing of the Flag ceremony, followed by a barbecue lunch

“We especially want to say thank you to AMVETS for the MIA/POW table ceremony,” shared Gena Gonzalez, Activities Director. “It was very informative. We also really appreciated the playing of Taps. It was beautiful and had some of us in tears.”

The community also displayed “memory flags” on the front lawn in honor of Memorial Day and those who have died in service to our country.

Paul Wiser and Cris Calkins helped Tony Ray by raising the flag at Buda Oaks.
