DRIPPING SPRINGS — On Monday, Feb. 27 at approximately 9:20 p.m., Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) troopers responded to a fatal crash involving a teen on McGregor Lane near Martin Road in Dripping Springs.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a 2007 Toyota Highlander occupied by a 16-year-old male driver was traveling north on McGregor Lane. For unknown reasons, a vehicle traveling south on McGregor Lane crossed into the northbound lane in a no passing zone. In an attempt to avoid being struck by the vehicle traveling the wrong direction in the Toyota’s lane, the driver of the Toyota traveled off the right side of the roadway. After traveling off the right side of the roadway, a branch penetrated the windshield of the Toyota and struck the driver. As a result of the crash the driver of the Toyota was pronounced deceased.
The investigation is ongoing and DPS is asking if anyone has any information involving this incident to contact the Texas Department of Public Safety.
