Herbert Eugene Brown, 81, of Niederwald, Texas, passed away on Sunday morning, March 19, 2023 in Austin, Texas. He was born March 6, 1942, in Waco, Texas to the late Mildred (Harper) Brown and Kenneth Brown. Herb was a devoted father and husband who dedicated himself to a life of service to his family and his community. As a high school teacher and a school sports coach, Herb provided inspiration for thousands of students throughout his 30 year professional career. An honest and skilled craftsman, Herb was known for his expertise and talent as a builder and advisor for building and remodeling homes. Recognized for his generosity, cheerful spirit and selflessness, Herb supported charitable functions and projects in his various roles in the Buda Lions Club, the Niederwald Volunteer Fire Department, The Buda United Methodist Church, and numerous personal and professional associations. Herb is survived by his wife of 60 years, Darlene (Walters) Brown; his brother Jimmie E. Brown; his daughters Darla Brown and Audra (Brown) Godsil; grandchildren Galen, Tyler, Brenda, Gisela, Rene, Stephanie; great-grandchildren Efrain, Valery, Christopher, Mathias, Sofia, Leah, Ryder, Bastian; and friends and honorary family too numerous to list here. In addition to his parents, Herb is preceded in death by his great-grandchild Michael and his sister Pauline (Brown) Willingham.
