HAYS COUNTY — The League of Women Voters of Hays County will hold three live candidate forums in April ahead of the Hays CISD, San Marcos CISD and Dripping Springs ISD boards of trustees elections in May.
As part of the LWV’s mission to empower voters, the candidate forums are a valuable resource for voters to fully inform themselves before heading to the vote center. The U.S. Census reports that Hays County experienced the fastest rate of growth, adding more than 83,000 new residents, many of which are eligible voters. The LWV encourages new Hays County voters to attend these local forums to learn of and experience the candidates vying for their votes; however, as always, all voters are urged to attend.
Forum questions for the candidates have been prepared by the LWV with input from the community. Forums will begin at 7 p.m. on the following dates:
• Hays CISD: April 6 at Kyle City Council Chambers
• San Marcos CISD: April 11 at San Marcos Public Library
• Dripping Springs ISD: April 13 at Sentenia Vera Cultural Hub
The forums will also be recorded and listed on the LWV of Hays County website at www.lwvhaysco.com on the Candidate Forums page. After the completed events, you will be able to view a recording of each forum within 48 hours. The event schedule will also be accessible on the website event calendar and LWV Hays County Facebook page.
Candidate information will be available on VOTE411.org in early April and updated as it becomes available.
