KYLE — The Pie in the Sky Hot Air Balloon Festival will return to Lake Kyle Park for a two-day festival this Labor Day weekend.
On Sept. 1-2, visitors will be able to enjoy a variety of fun, including live music performances, a mini carnival, tethered hot air balloon rides, hot air balloon glow shows, a vendor market, plenty of pie and fireworks.
Entry tickets purchased on-site are $10 per day or $15 for the whole festival. Youth ages 17 and under are free; and adults ages 55 and older are $5 per day. Tickets may be purchased online for the same cost, but may include processing fees. The entry fee does not include tethered hot air balloon rides, mini carnival rides or any other costs incurred once entry is gained.
The schedule for the festival (not including live music performances) is as follows:
Friday, Sept. 1
• 5 p.m. – Gates open – Tethered rides and entertainment all afternoon
• 6:30-9:30 p.m. – Pie in the Sky Corn Hole Tournament
• 7:30 p.m. – Hot Air Balloon Glow
• 10:30 p.m. – Gates close
Saturday, Sept. 2
• 7 a.m. – Gates open
• 7 a.m. – Hot Air Balloon Grand Ascension
• 7:30-10 a.m. – Tethered hot air balloon rides
• 8 a.m. – Pie 3.14 mile Walk/Run
• 10 a.m. – Tiny Tot PIEathalon
• 12 p.m. – Pie in the face contest
• 1 p.m. – Pie eating contest/baking contest
• 2 p.m. – Pie recital contest
• 7:30-8:30 p.m. – Hot Air Balloon Glow
• 7:30-10 p.m. – Tethered hot air balloon rides
• 9 p.m. – Fireworks
• 10:30 p.m. – Gates close
