Jenya Ratanjee, a student at Johnson High School, poses with her certificate award and one of her art pieces, as she was recently awarded a scholarship from the Texas Art Education Association. At the Visual Arts Scholastic Event State competition earlier this semester, Ratanjee participated in a course called 2D Scholarship session, where students were provided specific media and criteria and tasked to create a work of art and submit to compete. After all her hard work, Jenya won the honor. “I am so incredibly proud of her. This was a very difficult challenge to overcome,” said Johnson High School art educator Adrienne Simes.
