Mary Evelyn Gregg Kinsala passed away surrounded by her four daughters on May 31, 2024 in Kyle, Texas. Born December 26, 1932, she had a full and wonderful life. Mary was a loving and giving soul with a keen sense of humor, and she was a role model for her family and friends.
Mary was born in South Houston, Texas. She attended the San Marcos Baptist Academy, University of Texas, and Trinity University where she received her degree in Psychology. She was a longtime resident of Kyle. Mary enjoyed traveling the world with her family to favorite places like Alaska, Australia, China, Europe, and Hawaii. She had a voracious passion for reading and knowledge and loved laughing with her family around a good meal with a glass of champagne. She was a member of the Kyle Garden Club and the Kyle Methodist Church.
She is survived by her children: Kay Pogue (Jimmie), Kathryn Kinsala and godson, Sean Stevens, Mary Gaye Kinsala (Beth Bogner), and Leslie O’Pry (Theresa Picou). She is also survived by her grandchildren Aliston Pogue Hinojos (Billy), Sean Mathis, Julie Mathis, and Drew Mathis (Jenna). Mary is also survived by her sister-in-law Anita Woods and her nieces and nephews: Evelyn Nicholson (Neville), Clifton Oswalt (Ann Marie), Robin Robinson (Kori Pulaski), Clinton Robinson, Stacy Vaughn (Brenda Niemeyer), Lisa Meadows, John Woods (Melissa), and Kara
Woods and long-time family friend, Pam Wuestenberg. She will be reunited with her husband, Boyce D. Kinsala; her siblings, Robie Lynn Robinson, Audrey Oswalt, and AW Gregg, Jr along with her parents AW and Robie Gregg, Sr.
Thank you Mary, for your kind heart, your beautiful smile, and your enormous generosity to so many in your lifetime. Thank you to the caregivers and friends (Team Mary) who made Mary’s life better.
A graveside service will be held at the Kyle Cemetery, on Tuesday, June 4th, at 10:30 am, conducted by Pennington Funeral Home in San Marcos. In lieu of flowers, please mail memorial contributions in Mary’s name to Bridgeway Hospice at 825 Main St. Suite 120, Buda TX 78610.
